Exploring Justice Through Prayer: A Powerful Journey With Children

Over the past term, we’ve been exploring the theme of justice with our children. As we came to the end of the series, we introduced them to an amazing resource from Open Doors: the Prayer Passport.

This interactive map takes children on a journey around the world, helping them learn about countries where it’s challenging – or even dangerous – to be a Christian. It invites them to pray for people and places they may never have heard of before, and it opens their eyes to real-life issues of faith, courage, and injustice.

The session was powerful.
Some children had no idea that Christians were being persecuted.
Some realised they had family living in one of the “top 50” countries.
All of them left with a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Jesus in hard places—and how they can respond through prayer.

Even more encouraging, many of the children continued praying at home. We’ve received completed prayer passports and stories of children praying after dinner, before school, and with their families. What a joy to see them taking what they’ve learned and living it out.

Why don’t you head to Open Doors and have a look to see if this could work for your group? Encourage your children to grow in compassion and prayer.
